Amur Leopard Panthera pardus orientalis native to south-eastern Russia and north-eastern China, the Amur Leopard is adapted to its cold climate with thicker, longer fur than its relatives. Amur Leopards have been known to have a territory of up to 30,000 hectares and are primarily solitary animals.
The Amur Leopard is classified as Critically Endangered by the IUCN with less than 50 adults remaining in the wild. The main threat to these Leopards is poaching, but also suffers due to encroaching civilisation and degradation of their habitats.
