Red Fox Vulpes vulpes the largest of the true foxes and a common presence across almost all of the Northern Hemisphere. Although rarely seen, the red fox's distinctive bark can often be heard at night. The red fox has demonstrated remarkable adaptation to the increasing urbanisation and there is now a large urban fox population.
